  • Me writing an essay: It implies that when one is unhappy with the way things are going, just imagining the magnificence of nature and the loveliness of something as simple as a field of daffodils can make the hardship seem a little less troublesome.

I often hear people say “I don’t want to hear any excuses” when somebody does something wrong. That phrase is already an excuse in itself…maybe we’re afraid of hearing what the other person has to say or perhaps we’re so used to their answers by now, we see no reason to let them speak.

I think it would be most helpful to let the person say their excuses, despite personal predictions that they would make no difference. Wanting to hear the reasons and excuses of the other person gives them a sense that somebody cares in the near future if not now. It allows personal reflection for the person who has done something wrong, or if not, it encourages critical thinking at the least. In addition, it gives the listener a picture of what exactly is going on in that person’s mind or life instead of making narrow minded assumptions.

Excuses themselves, be it, reasonable or not are subtle and important elements to understanding each other…is what I believe.

I don’t know why, but I’m just so touched seeing him eat ; ;
